About

Welcome! I am the ‘Summa Momma’! a.k.a. Christina, a.k.a. Mrs. Zelie Margaret, OP.

I was raised Catholic in a classic midwestern town, the eldest of three girls.

I majored in Philosophy and Theology in college, despite my original plan of being a radiologist (how God laughs, right?). After interning in Campus Ministry for a year following graduation, my new husband and I set off to Boston for graduate school. I earned a Masters in Theological Studies and began my life’s work as a mother, picking up odd parish and campus ministry jobs as I went.

In 2011, I became a certified Natural Family Planning instructor. If you’re interested in learning more, please see my NFP page for info on the method I teach. Over the past few years, this aspect of my ministry has grown greatly and I am eager to share the good news of NFP with couples!

In 2012, I recognized a call to deepen my vocation as a Lay Dominican. Suddenly, I found a “name” for my love of study and preaching, and I saw how being a mother and wife were a part of my apostolate as a lay woman. I am deeply passionate about sharing my love of Christ and His Church: the teachings, writings, liturgy and especially the holy witnesses of faith- the Saints.

If you would like to hire me to speak at an event, lecture series, or to plan retreats or workshops for your parish or school, please visit the “Speaking Engagements” portion of the website.

Thank you for visiting! I hope to hear from you and learn how God is working in YOUR life!

Oh, and just for fun…
